Wilson Chandomba is an expert in supply chain and quality assurance. He has over 24 years of experience supporting various businesses. Currently, he works as the managing consultant for CMCOMMS. He gained experience working on pharmaceutical regulatory audits for several countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region throughout his career. This exposure gave him a deeper insight into pharmaceutical quality assurance. It was during late 1998 that Wilson discovered his interest in healthcare supply chain. 

Over the past few years, he has found that the biggest challenge in his country is the lack of adherence to good logistics practices and the proliferation of illegal imports, substandard medicines, and falsified products. Wilson believes that the logistics performance index is very low and that timely delivery of medical products is also a major challenge.  

In his opinion, academic world is more focused on theory than practice, which doesn’t work well for the system at large. With this in mind, the CMCOMMS developed a training program for medical logistics practitioners that is more application-oriented. 

“If I could change one thing about my workplace, it would be funding of more educational programs which are grounded in reality”, says Wilson.
